Each-way betting on snooker
Each-way snooker betting is available w hen placing a bet on the tournament winner. Each-way bets are paid out on the two tournament finalists, at 1/2 the original odds.
For example, a £10 each-way bet on Judd Trump winning the World Snooker Championship at 8/1 would cost £20 – £10 on him winning, and £10 on him placing. Should Trump lose in the final, the win portion of the each-way bet would be a loser. However, the place part of the bet would be a winner and paid out at 4/1 (half the original odds).
That means the payout would be £50: £40 in profit and the original £10 stake from the place part of the snooker bet.
Snooker Tips For Betting
Ronnie O'Sullivan may be the greatest snooker player of his generation – perhaps all-time – but even he has off-days. The beauty of snooker is that when a player is at the table, the other player is powerless and must sit in their chair. So even when a player is in electric form, if their opponent is sinking long pots and clearing up, there's nothing they can do about it. It makes for a thrilling contest on the baize, and here are our best snooker tips to keep in mind:
- Player form: is your chosen player going to be the one keeping his opponent in their chair? Are they on a run of going deep into tournaments, or are they showing signs of burnout after months touring the world chasing ranking points and prize money?
- Head-to-head: with so many snooker events on the calendar, players are increasingly familiar with each other's game. It's always worth checking out the head-to-head numbers from previous meetings between players to see if one has a historical edge.
- Stats: as soon as a tournament breaks off, you'll find in-depth stats that can help you make informed betting decisions. Everything from average shot time to highest break can be solid indicators of good form, as can safety success rate and long pot percentage.
